As another school year approaches, families in the Plainville School District are encouraged to take advantage of the comprehensive USD 270 Back-to-School Information Page included in this week's Sentinel-Times. The annual publication contains important dates, enrollment information, complete school supply lists for every grade level, staff listings, athletic information, and other helpful details to help students and parents prepare for the 20262027 school year.

One of the most important dates for families to remember is Tuesday, July 21, when in-person enrollment for both the elementary and junior/senior high schools will be held in the Cardinal Commons from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Families who prefer to enroll from home may do so beginning Wednesday, July 15, when online enrollment opens.

Students will begin the new school year with a half-day of classes on Thursday, August 13. Fall sports practices are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17, and all student-athletes must have their physicals and required paperwork completed before the first day of practice.

The special ad also includes textbook rental fees, breakfast and lunch prices, transportation information, and immunization requirements. Families will also find notices regarding special education Child Find services, FERPA rights, and district policies.
