Larry & Linda Stamper to celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary
Please join us in celebrating Larry & Linda Stamper of Plainville on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They met while attending Kansas State University and were married on December 20th, 1970, at the First Baptist Church in Manhattan, Kansas. After a free 3-day honeymoon attending a timeshare pitch in Bella Vista, Arkansas, they returned to Manhattan, graduated from Kansas State the following year, and settled on the Stamper family farm northeast of Plainville. For the past 50 years, they have enjoyed building a life together, with a focus on family and farming.
Although Grandpa Stamper could never understand why anyone would have a baby during calving season or harvest, they were blessed to have three sons: Michael (Plainville), James (Topeka) and Mark (Olathe.) Over the years, they have added three wonderful daughters-in-law; Elizabeth (Michael), Lyndsey (James) and Lindsay (Mark.) They also enjoy their seven amazing grandchildren.
Like all farm families, Larry and Linda take great pride in feeding the world. Larry has spent his working life as a well-respected farmer and stockman in Rooks County. Linda has fed everyone in the county through church pot-lucks, bake sales and 4-H events, and her cakes have a waiting list a mile long!
Our family is beyond grateful for the lessons that Larry and Linda have demonstrated: to work hard, be kind, and take care of your friends, neighbors, and family. We are also thankful for the lesson of what happens when you trade the family car without talking to your spouse first—but that’s a story for another time.
Through it all, we love you very much and wish you many more anniversary celebrations—even if they take place at the Dairy Queen and not in some timeshare in Bella Vista. Happy 50th anniversary!
With much love,
Your Family
