HCF to host Advisor Lunch on local philanthropy, year-end giving strategies, & transfer of wealth trends
The Heartland Community Foundation is inviting area finance professionals, attorneys, bankers, insurance agents, and other advisors to a special lunch program, Keeping Wealth Local: Year-End Giving Insights for Advisors, on Friday, Sept. 19, from noon to 1 p.m., at Verdant Bistro, 230 E. 8th St., Hays.
This program is designed to give trusted advisors the tools they need to guide meaningful client conversations about charitable giving. Attendees will enjoy a complimentary Italian lunch while networking with peers and catching up with colleagues. They’ll leave with practical insights on year-end giving strategies, new community giving trends, and changes in federal tax law that will affect charitable giving in the coming years.
Advisors who attend will: Hear the latest transfer of wealth data for Northwest Kansas, commissioned this year by the Patterson Family Foundation and showing an even larger intergenerational shift than previously realized throughout the area.
Learn about year-end giving strategies that may benefit their clients while keeping wealth working in the local community.
Explore local trends in philanthropy and the community needs emerging in Ellis, Rooks, and Trego counties, including how nonprofits are navigating increased demand for services and the vital role charitable giving plays in sustaining them.
Gain a preview of anticipated changes in charitable giving under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law this summer. Starting in 2026, the OBBBA will allow non-itemizers to deduct certain gifts, introduce new deduction floors for itemizers and corporations, cap deductions for high-income donors, and increase estate and gift tax exemptions.
These changes present both opportunities and challenges for donors and will shape giving strategies in the years ahead.
