Darlene M. Walters

Darlene M. Walters, age 85, of Hays, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on April 30, 1938, in Hays, Kansas, to Albert and Wilhemena (Graf) Walters.

Darlene was a CNA at the Eddy Clinic in Hays for over 50 years and retired in 2005.

She grew up in Hays and was a 1956 Girls Catholic High School graduate. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed physical fitness workouts, reading, and cooking.

She is survived by her sister, Becky Morris, and husband, Roger, Plainville; her brother-in-law, Jack McGivern, Topeka; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Wilhelmena; her brother, Tom Walters, and his wife, Mary; and her sister, Margie McGivern.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18th and Vine, Hays, with Father Nick Parker officiating.

The burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Hays.

A Vigil Service and Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, at the church.

The family suggests memorials made payable to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in care of Cline-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
