Former Stockton resident Lester E. Look, of Hays, passed away on March 7, 2023, in Sabetha, at the age of 92.

He was born on October 6, 1930, to Bryan and Mary Ethel (Bridwell) Look in Stockton. He married Avis Schindler on May 17, 1952, in Belleville. They were blessed with two daughters: Patricia and Diane.

Lester grew up in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School in 1948. Right out of high school he started a harvesting crew and bought his own combine. He then worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He built his own Ham Radio and would talk to people on his handle WA0GRM. He also helped set up communications for the Kansas University games. Lester accomplished so many things in his life as a pilot, certified morse code teacher, boy scout leader, and a Ham Club organizer. He could fix ANYTHING! He loved flying, traveling to Colorado, and woodworking.

He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and held many offices.

Lester will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in our hearts and minds. Through his life, he taught us how to live our dreams, and through his example, he taught us how to enjoy the fruits of our labor, but above all, through his love, he taught us how to serve God and one another with undying devotion.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Stan) Remmers of Sabetha, and Diane (Randall) Hrabe of Plainville; brother, Robert (Barbara) Look of Ringwood, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Judd (Tanya) Remmers, Matt Hrabe, Joel (Felicia) Hrabe, Greg Remmers, Emily Hrabe, Abigail (Richard) Kidwell, Libby (Lance) Ziegler, and Caroline (Chris) Keas; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Mary Ethel; wife, Avis; and brother, Ralph (Elizabeth) Look.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10 a.m., at the Stockton United Methodist Church in Stockton. Burial will follow in the Stockton Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Memorials are suggested to Kansas Honor Flight and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. 1st, Stockton, KS 67669.
